Fall – Harvest Vest – Merino Camel + Maiden Hair

Our final pattern in the 4 Season of Hand Maiden collection, the Harvest Vest is knit holding our Maiden Hair and our Merino Camel Lace together that creates a super soft and warm, but surprisingly light weight thanks to the lofty mohair in combination with silk and camel yarn. Perfect to add a little warmth to an early fall or spring day.

This pattern was designed to take advantage of the beautiful colours of variegated yarn by using simple details to show off the colours without making the fabric too busy. A near invisible detail, the phantom stripes, help to break up the colour pooling. A bonus, done in a solid colour the phantom stripes add a more visible pretty and subtle detail. The two stitch twisted rib adds a pretty detail to the hem and arm edges, and an I-cord is the perfect finish at the crew neck collar. The vest is knit in the round from the hem to the arms then knit flat the rest of the way.

This vest is a slightly shaped boxy cut garment with a nice twisted stitch detail that gives the illusion of a stripe.

Colour methodology: There are so many option, for a colour fiesta pick both yarns as variegated.
Still want some colour but not a fiesta, choose a subtle Merino Camel and a variegated Maiden Hair.
If you want to be snazzy, then a variegated merino camel and a subtle Maiden Hair this gives you mini pops of colour.
Lastly, sophisticated, two subtles, they don’t have to be the same colour, or they can.

This vest is knit with 20 cm/8” of positive ease. To find your size, take your chest measurement and add 20 cm/8” then choose the Finished Garment Measurement bust circumference closest to that number. I would recommend going a size larger if you’re in the middle of two sizes.
